03Early Entry, Step by Step
1
Leave the hotel with time to spare

EPA starts 1 hour before public open — budget travel time based on your hotel's distance.

2
Enter early, key + ticket

Show room key & park ticket at the gate — no separate reservation needed.

3
Go straight to Gringotts

Diagon Alley's headline ride, no Express bypass — hardest wait to beat later.

4
Hit Mummy next

New York's marquee coaster fills fast once the public gate opens at 9am.

5
Ease into the rest

Minion Land, Springfield & DreamWorks Land hold up well later in the day.

05Insider Tips
01Single Rider lines cut waits at Mummy, Transformers & Gringotts.
02Most rides are indoor — great rainy-day park choice.
03Hogwarts Express needs a Park-to-Park ticket to ride between parks. Ride both directions — London→Hogsmeade and Hogsmeade→London tell completely different stories.
04Test seats sit near most queues — check fit before you wait in line.
05Diagon Alley wand spots are free, interactive, and any-height.
06Skip Minion Land at rope drop — it's the first thing guests see walking in and hits peak waits fast. Circle back mid-afternoon for a fraction of the wait.
07Download the Universal app before you arrive — paper maps are no longer at the gate. The app holds tickets & Express Passes, shows live wait times and showtimes, enables mobile ordering, and even saves your parking spot location.
08If kids are near a height cutoff, measure at home first. Universal re-measures borderline guests at the gate and again mid-queue — better to know before you wait 45 minutes.
09Plan at least 2 days — one family of 4 with Express Passes fit 12 rides in an 11-hour day but had zero time to browse or explore. First-timers need more breathing room.
10Universal is not Disney — no Magic Bands, no Disney buses from resort hotels. Dining is more utilitarian except at Epic Universe, where The Atlantic and Blue Dragon are genuinely excellent for an evening meal.
11Free water all day: fill a refillable bottle at the filtered water dispenser next to the ice machine hallways at Terra Luna (and other on-site hotels) before you head out. Inside any Universal park, all Coca-Cola Freestyle machines dispense free ice water — no purchase needed.

Volcano Bay uses a TapuTapu virtual queue system alongside Express

Buy in advance — passes sell out on peak days and prices rise closer to your visit date. Purchase on Universal's site or let Greg handle it. · Express cannot be used during Early Park Admission hours. · Excluded rides (no Express line): Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure & Pteranodon Flyers (Islands of Adventure), Dragon Racer's Rally (Epic Universe).

In-Room Pizza Delivery — Greg's Pick
Verdict: really good. 10-inch crispy crust with great toppings and a solid specialty selection (e.g. Margherita) starting around $17. A convenient, genuinely tasty option after a long park day — don't overlook it. Order via the dedicated Pizza / Star Service one-touch button on the room phone.
